Mission Statement:

Our mission is to protect public forests from commercial logging. We insist that all members of the public have a full voice in decisions regarding our public lands. We encourage the preservation of forests on private lands through education and influencing government policies.

Who We Are and What We Believe:

The Wendell State Forest Alliance formed to protect the ecological diversity and integrity of living systems on public lands currently known as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Alliance recognizes the urgent need to protect Earth and all her inhabitants from the disastrous effects of climate change and biodiversity loss.  We support safeguarding forests from commercial exploitation to allow them to develop to their fullest potential. Keeping forests wild, a policy of Proforestation, is the most effective and least costly way to maximize public benefits from our public forests.

Guiding Principles:

We act in the knowledge and understanding that the Climate Emergency and Biodiversity Crisis are inextricably intertwined with an unsustainable system of global injustices. We are dedicated to the elimination of these injustices through our work, including education, coalition building, engagement in nonviolent direct action, civil disobedience, and civic engagement.  We recognize that we are part of the living systems around us without which we could not exist. As such, we see and respect all those who came before us, live among us now, and we work for our great, great, great grandchildren.
